Simulating student learning for better AI tutoring

A new research system called StudentSim is being developed to create personalized AI student simulators. These simulators are trained on de-identified learner data to mimic how students respond to AI tutoring and adapt to guidance. This approach aims to accelerate the feedback loop for AI tutor development, offering a faster, more scalable alternative to traditional human studies, without replacing human teachers.
