Steve Niles is reviving the classic paranormal detective Cal McDonald with a new collection, Cal McDonald: Plague of Evil and Other Stories, after nearly 40 years and 20 years since the last collection. This return is significant for fans of noir and horror, as Cal McDonald is often compared to authors like Mickey Spillane and Raymond Chandler, promising a familiar yet fresh take on monster-filled mysteries. The Kickstarter campaign, featuring artwork from a diverse group of artists, will determine the scope and potential extras for the release.
